Maximina Solis Novida Junio, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, cousin, aunt, teacher and friend, of Marina, California, passed away on August 18, 2026 at the age of 90 years. She was the widow of Timoteo Salinas Junio, who was born into eternal life on August 3, 2025. She is survived by her daughter, Lucille Junio Alker, her grandchildren, Brendan Charles Timothy Alker and Katherine Joyce Alker, and her son-in-law, Kevin John Alker.

Maximina was born on February 18, 1936 (registered on February 22) to Isidro Novida and Lucia Buenaventura Solis in the village of Gatang, Malasiqui in Pangasinan, Philippines. Mina was second-born and was the sole survivor of six (6) children. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. In 1970, she moved with her husband and daughter to Central California. She worked with the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District (MPUSD) in various roles of increasing responsibility, retiring in 2001 after teaching pre-school at Seaside Children’s Center for over 20 years. Following retirement, she qualified for a real estate broker license.

Visitation will be on Sept 3, 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey, California. Chapel Blessing will be at the same location, Mission Mortuary, on Sept 4, 11:00am. Interment will be on Sept 4, 12:30pm at San Carlos Cemetery.
