Herbert Tony Middleton
November 20, 1946 — March 30, 2026
Herbert “Tony” Middleton, 79, of Hollister, California, entered into glory on March 30th, 2026, surrounded by family. As one of twelve children, he was born on November 20, 1946, to George Turner and Estella Gladys (Ivory) Middleton. As a teenager, Tony attended Peck High School and served in the Army. While stationed in Korea, he married his one true love, Christine Myong Cha and later had two daughters.
After 24 years and 9 months of military active duty, he worked in civil service as a vehicle operator for TMP at DLIFLC for 25 years providing vehicle support for official government business and student transportation needs across the installation of the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, Presidio of Monterey.
Tony was also an active member of Holy Assembly Missionary Baptist Church spreading the Gospel. He sang in the choir and served in the ministry visiting the sick.
What he loved most was his wife Christine, gardening (especially his trees), family barbeques, watching the Golden State Warriors play, and riding his motorcycle earlier in life. He will always be remembered for his kindness toward others, sense of humor, especially his laughter and for always saying “thank you”.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jackey and Jacqueline (Lina); four grandchildren, Emma, Forrest, Alyssa, and Ashley; and his only surviving brothers and sisters (out of twelve), George Turner Jr., Willie, LaRona, and Idella. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Christine Myong Cha in 2025, his parents and other brothers and sisters.
A funeral service will be held at 9:00 AM on April 16th, 2026, at Holy Assembly Missionary Baptist Church in Marina, California with full military burial to follow at California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery.
