Carroll Sidney Premo
Feb 15, 1934 — Sep 14, 2026
Carroll Sidney Premo, of Molalla, Oregon, passed away September 14th, 2026, peacefully, as she always wanted. She was a beautiful person, inside and out, and anyone with the pleasure of knowing her, is better for it. Her story begins February 15th, 1934, when she was born to Albert Grover Fuhrman and Amy Louise Strain, in Michigan, North Dakota. She was the youngest of her 5 siblings, Robert ( Bud), Etha (Sis), Jean, Dorothy, and Darlyne, until her parents later had one more son, Russell, adopted one of their foster children, Douglas, and raised one of their grandsons, Bobby, as their own. Her family moved to a farm in Cass Lake, Minnesota, when she was six, and is where she was raised, married, and started her own family.
She was happy being a farm girl, and as the youngest daughter, was a bit spoiled. After completing the required 8th Grade, she went to town a few times to work, but always ended up back at the farm. She hated to disappoint people, so whenever she quit a job, she would go back to the farm, and write them a resignation letter, rather then quitting in person. Her favorite time off the farm was when she traveled to Long Beach, California and lived for awhile as a young woman. This is where she fell in love with the ocean, but she did end up returning home to the farm, and meeting up with a Cass Lake "city boy" from her school days, Rolland Guy Premo at a local club. He was in the Army, and fought in the Korean War. When he returned to Cass Lake, they were married February 8th, 1954 and welcomed their first daughter, Roxanne, a year later. Rolland was a bit of a dream chaser, so they moved around quite a bit. Their second daughter, Rhonda, was born six years later in Grand Forks, North Dakota, followed four years later by their third daughter Terrie, in River Falls, Wisconsin. A mere eighteen months later, after they had made their biggest move yet, to the West Coast, came their first and only son Rolland ( Rollie) Guy Premo II in Gresham, Oregon, and eleven years later, after they had moved into the Molalla area, by great surprise to them all, their fourth daughter, Tammie, was born in Oregon City, Oregon. Carroll was most happy being at home with her children, and did always have a few daycare kids that she took care of to supplement their income. Once in Molalla, they did open their own business, Premo's Bakery, where Carroll assisted with all the day to day tasks, but mostly enjoyed cake decorating.
Eventually life took them to Alaska, where Carroll worked in the different bakeries in Bethel, Kenai, and Nome, usually with Rolland, again, owning Billikin Bakery in Nome, Alaska, until 8 years into their great wilderness adventure, tragedy struck and Rollie was killed in a car accident in Nome. He had moved there to assist with the family business when Rolland had an earlier health scare, and his death so greatly impacted them, that they left the state they adored, and headed back home to Oregon to the Molalla/Colton area once again.
Through all the years since they left Minnesota, Carroll and Rolland always made time to go back to Minnesota, typically annually, where both of their families still remained. They enjoyed many annual beach trips to the Oregon Coast, and their multiple trips to Hawaii and Reno, NV were amongst some of their favorite times. After Rolland passed away in 2002, Carroll still enjoyed traveling with her daughters, and friends, with Mexico and the Bahamas being a couple of new destinations she went to.
Carroll was always a woman of great faith and Christianity. She was active in each of her communities, she volunteered for the local senior center, and at many church functions. She was a former member of the VFW and still active at the Molalla Moose Lodge, where she spent most Friday nights, playing bingo. She loved Painting, Card games, Dancing, and Music. Carroll could pick any instrument up and play it by ear. The Harmonica, Guitar, Piano, and Accordion were among her favorites. She loved playing music and any Fuhrman reunion was sure to find them all singing, and playing guitar together. She loved her family.
Carroll was beloved by all who had the privilege of being in her life and she will be greatly missed. People like her come across once in a lifetime and her love and influence will last over generations. There will never be another Mom, Grandma, or GG like her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Rolland Premo, son Rollie Premo, parents Albert and Amy Fuhrman, her siblings, Robert ( Bud) Fuhrman, Etha ( Sis) Caldwell, Jean Hagbloom, Dorothy Church, Darlyne Smith, Russell Fuhrman, and Bobby Fuhrman. She is survived by her brother Douglas Fuhrman, daughters Roxanne Litherland, Rhonda Premo-Barron, Terrie Aylett, and Tammie Stith, Son In Laws Mike Litherland, Rodney Aylett, and Lou Stith, Grandchildren Brandi Schneider and husband Russ, Ryan Litherland and wife Mandy, Chelsea Wilson and husband Mike, Colton Premo-Barron, Amanda Ulrich and husband Austin, Dustin Premo and wife Kaleigh, Mariah Aylett, Reed Aylett and wife Kory, Ryker Aylett and wife Jada, Kaleb Nicholas, Carter Nicholas, Deegan Stith, and her Great Grandchildren, Joe and Emma Litherland, Peyton and Brady Schneider, Addie, Braxton and Brynlee Wilson, Maurice Aylett, Jaxon Premo, and Nova Aylett, and numerous nieces, nephews, additional family members and friends she loved dearly.
