Anaïs Elizabeth Simmons

May 16, 1989 — Jun 5, 2026

Anaïs Elizabeth Simmons (5/16/89-6/5/26) died from an extremely rare, very painful and fatal complication of Infectious Mononucleosis, namely HLH. She had a beautiful soul that loved all animals and they all seemed to have an unusual attraction to her. She was an expert horsewoman and owned her horse Tresa, a Morgan, for seventeen years. She was born in Redondo Beach, CA, but spent the rest of her life in Eugene, OR. She graduated South Eugene High School (2007) . Mark Clark was her partner They were a perfect match, thoroughly enjoying each other’s company. She loved gardening and cooking and typically cooked ethnic dishes on ethnic holidays. She was a quiet person, much more of a listener. She is also survived by her parents, Geoff and Sherry Simmons, her brother Erik Hasselman and his wife Priscila, sister Tara Hasselman, nephews Alex Hasselman, Technical Sergeant Colton Bain and his wife Melanie and son Blaidd, State Trooper Kyle Hasselman, Ethan Hasselman, Luke Hasselman and her niece, Erika Hasselman. Her pets included an exuberant, extremely strong, loving Pit named Stormy, two cats Snickers and Miss Kitty, two pythons Spot and Manasseh, and one hamster Ember Hallow Queen. She left us suddenly, medically fighting for her life. She is and will be dearly missed. She was and will forever be our forest princess.
