In Loving Memory

Betty Anne Davis, age 89 of Eugene, Oregon, passed away February 17th, 2026, in Portland, Oregon. Betty was born on January 31, 1937, in Joliet, Illinois to James and Marguerite Dunn. The family moved to Portland when Betty was small and that’s where she grew up happily. In 1955, Betty graduated from Grant High school where she was a majorette leading the school band during sports games and in Portland parades.

Working as a receptionist at North Pacific Lumber Company in Portland, Betty met and fell in love with her first husband, Hugh Richardson from England. They wed on January 20, 1962, at St. Michael of All Angels church in Portland. Together they had three children, Patrick Hugh Richardson (Lake Oswego, Oregon); Andrew James Richardson (predeceased); and Catherine Mary Richardson (West Linn, Oregon).  As a family they enjoyed golfing, skiing, hunting, fishing, and memories at their cabin on Mount Hood.

In 1978, Betty moved to Eugene, Oregon. In 1980, she married her husband, Bob Davis, whom she shared 40 years with until his passing in 2020. During their marriage, they enjoyed 26 wonderful years in retirement where they traveled extensively with their fifth wheel trailer throughout the Western United States; including, Alaska, Arizona, California, Montana, and Utah, all while keeping their Eugene house home base. Eventually, Betty and Bob became Arizona snowbirds – spending winters in their Arizona house and the rest of the year in Eugene. Their retirement was also spent attending Oregon Duck football games, gardening, cruises to the Caribbean, and enjoying their many friends.

Betty loved watching all sports, especially Oregon Duck football and PGA tournaments.  She cherished her many friendships and frequently spent time talking on the phone or being with friends. She loved the Oregon coast; eating crab, scallops, and shrimp; keeping the cleanest house imaginable; and always had Kit Kat candy bars at the ready.

Betty was preceded in death by her son, Andy Richardson, in 2019; and by her husband, Bob Davis, in 2020. She is survived by her son, Patrick Richardson (Priscilla), their children Sarah Berg (Paul), and Spencer Richardson; daughter, Catherine Richardson (Chuck Katter) and her children Grace and Palmer Fix; grandson, Hugh Richardson (Alexis) and their children Tyler and Jaymes Richardson; granddaughter, Angela Greaves (Tyler); and stepdaughter, Kelli McSherry (Mike) and their children Finn and Daley McSherry.

Betty will be remembered for her dedication to her loved ones, her many friends, her sense of humor, and her kindness. As we celebrate her memory, we honor her legacy and cherish the moments we shared. May she rest in peace. 

A memorial will be held at 10am on Tuesday, March 3rd at Musgrove Family Mortuary located at 225 S Danebo Avenue in Eugene. A private burial will follow at Belcrest Memorial Park in Salem for the family.
