Curtis Jackson Cummings

Mar 23, 1948 — Jun 15, 2024

Curtis J. Cummings of Eugene passed away on June 15th, 2024, at the age of 76 after a short but hard-fought battle with dementia. He was born March 23, 1948, to Herschel and Jennie Cummings.

Curt was a graduate of Springfield High School. In his early working years, he worked in management positions for various freight line companies. In 1992 he started an asphalt paving and seal coating company called Western Asphalt. He was the owner for several decades until his son took over the company in 2014. The company was sold in 2022 and is still operating today under new ownership. Curt was also a member of Lane Leaders Association for many years.

Curt and his wife Donna were snowbirds. They spent the winters down in Arizona where he loved playing pickleball, golfing and riding his side by side out in the desert with friends. Summers were spent back in Oregon where he played more pickleball, went riding quads with family at the dunes, and loved to watch his great-grandkids play sports. Curt was also an avid Oregon Duck fan. He had season tickets to football and basketball games for many years.

Curt is survived by his wife, Donna Cummings; two sons and their spouses, Mitch (deceased) and Carla Anderson, Chad and Sandy Cummings; two grandchildren and their spouses, Tyler and Allie Anderson and Lindsay and Keith Boeshans; three great grandchildren, Jackson, Rylee, and Emmitt; a sister Wanda Downes and two brothers Terry Cummings and Larry Cummings (deceased).

Curt was a family man and a friend to many. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
