Gloria L Turcotte

On July 4th, 2026 our dear, sweet, loving mom passed into the arms of Jesus, surrounded by her family.

Gloria L Turcotte (Severson) born in Everett WA, August 18, 1945 to Herman L and Maxine M Severson (Mcllrath).

In 1950 the Severson family moved to Springfield Oregon where Gloria would spend her childhood and most of her life. Gloria and her siblings Jack Severson (Cindy), Jean Burgess (Patrick) and Carlene Sheets-Ersland had an idyllic childhood. Gloria made many friends in that time that she kept throughout her life.

Gloria graduated from Springfield High School in 1964 and went to Lane Community College to become a Licensed Practial Nurse. In 1977, she went to work at Lane Transit District as one of the first female bus drivers. Over her 30 year career at LTD, Gloria touched the lives of many passengers and coworkers. Many of whom were her friends still. She loved her monthly lunches with the other retirees.

She loved driving so much that when she did retire, she took a job driving limo's for a local company. She enjoyed getting to share peoples special moments in life as well as visiting the many beautiful Oregon vineyards.

She also put her LPN skills to use, taking care of other's in their homes and again welcoming people to be part of the family.

She spent time voluteering for United Way and was active in church throughout her life. She also was well known for opening her heart and home to people who needed someone to believe in them. Somehow she just knew she could make a difference. Gloria will be missed for her kind, loving heart, her thoughtful and caring spirit.

Gloria loved an adventure and often participated in fun activities with little or no details of what was on the agenda. Many of the best memories her children have are road trips with mom. Whether it was a beach trip, a concert, camping, family gatherings or trips to Disneyland, being in the car with mom was always a good time. Gloria loved dancing, music, books and movies. She also enjoyed restaurants, concerts, gambling and comedy shows.

She was very supportive of her family in all their endeavors. Whether it was listening to her kids Justin and Lori sing Karaoke or her son Joe play drums in a band, Gloria was their biggest fan, in the front row always. Gloria could also been seen at her grandkids sports, music, dance or even robotics.

Gloria was mom to many and "G'ma" or "Triple G" to many more. What will be missed the most by her children is her amazing green eyes, her beautiful smile, her hugs, her whip smart humor and boisterous laughter.

Although she opened her heart to many, her children, Joseph A Ficek, Jennifer M Gaffney (David), Lori A McMillan and Justin L Turcotte (Kelsee Leno) will forever be grateful to have had her as "Mom".

The light of her life was her grandchildren and she loved each and every one of them with the kind reserved only for that precious relationship. Her grandchildren, Collin, Lilly (Jayce), Gabby and Leo were very lucky for all the time they had.

Her heart and compassion was so large that she would always make room to include those not born to the family. Some of those special relationships were with Jessica, Julia, Tylor and Michele.

Although she is gone too soon and too suddenly, she will live on in the hearts and minds of all she knew. She is simply unforgettable.

The family would like to invite people to share in a gathering to celebrate the life of this amazing woman. Sunday, August 23rd at Armitage Park, Shelter J from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
