Sin Cha Ruiz

Sin Cha Ruiz, 82, of Eugene, Oregon, passed away on October 13, 2026 at her home.

Sin Cha was born on September 2, 1944 in South Korea to the late Ki Sun Choe and Ok Ye Song. Sin Cha moved to Uijeongbu to work as a waitress, child care provider and housemaid. She lived with her mother. She loved cooking good food, and had an intuition for fashion.

Sin Cha met Frank while walking home and they were married on February 11, 1977. They together built a home filled with love and laughter through difficult times after the loss of one son and two daughters. As a dedicated mother, Sin Cha raised two children on the best bowls of kimchi-jjigae successfully to adulthood, and cared for her eldest son Frankie Choe Ruiz for ten years until his passing December 1987.

Sin Cha loved her children and grandchildren endlessly. She never missed a chance to tell her children how proud she was of them. She treasured her grandchildren who were her biggest joy. Sin Cha is survived by her loving husband of 49 years Frank Sanchez Ruiz, son Ki Sun Ruiz, daughter Shin Choe Morones, son-in- law Steven Joe Morones and five grandchildren: Jovani Kwan Ruiz, Koreanna Moon Frost, Zackeriah Michael Morones, Adonia Dae Frost and Elijah Raphael Morones.
