Linda Lou Dieckhoff

Oct 5, 1951 — Sep 6, 2026

Linda Lou Dieckhoff, age 74, of Cambridge, Wisconsin passed away on September 6, 2026, at SSM Health, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Linda was born on October 5, 1951, in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, to Ralph and Alona Proctor. She attended schools in Blanchardville, Iowa-Grant, Mineral Point, and Hollandale, graduating from Hollandale High School in 1969. During her school years, Linda was active in 4H and band.

On September 16, 1972, Linda married the love of her life, Duane Dieckhoff in Blanchardville, Wisconsin. Together they built a loving life and family and were just days away from celebrating their 54th wedding anniversary.

Linda worked as a secretary in the Madison area before becoming Town Clerk for the Town of Oakland. Throughout her career, she also worked with the Public Works Department for the Village of McFarland, as clerk for the Village of Rockdale, and as clerk for the Town of Christiana. She took great pride in her work and in the communities she served.

One of Linda's greatest joys was sewing and quilting. She was a dedicated member of the Pin and Sew Group at East Koshkonong Lutheran Church, where she worked alongside others to make quilts that were sent overseas. Her dedication helped the group achieve two record-breaking years in a row. Linda especially treasured making quilts for her family, creating special pieces for her children and grandchildren that will continue to be cherished for generations.

Above all, Linda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Duane; daughter, Shelly Eagen (Matthew); son, Scott Dieckhoff (Kate); and son, Michael Dieckhoff; grandchildren, Katie, Mason, and Rylee; and step-grandchildren, Selena, Hunter, Dakota, Alexander, Lilyanne, Rylee, and Kailyn. Her family brought her tremendous joy and happiness, and she treasured every moment she spent with them. She is also survived by her siblings, their spouses and children, many cousins, and dear friends.

Linda was preceded in death by Ralph and Alona Proctor, Kenneth and Evelyn Dieckhoff, Kirsten Dieckhoff, two infant brothers, Elizabeth Proctor, and Amanda Straw.

Linda's family will forever cherish the memories they made with her. Her love will live on through her family, especially in the quilts she lovingly made with her own hands. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 1–4 pm at East Koshkonong Lutheran Church, 454 East Church Rd, Cambridge, WI. A funeral service celebrating Linda’s life will be held following the visitation at the same location.
