Karen Lee Gierzak

Karen Lee (nee Rose) Gierzak, age 80, of Fort Atkinson, passed away on July 10, 2026, at Reena Memory Care in Fort Atkinson.

Karen was born on June 23, 1942, the daughter of Ralph and Jean (nee Heckla) Rose. She married Charles Gierzak on July 6, 1968.

Karen taught elementary school for 30 years. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at Northland College. She completed her master's degree in Ashland, WI, along with additional credits from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

She had many happy memories of the numerous students she had come in.

Surviving are her children Christopher (Yuli) and Craig, both of Fort Atkinson, WI; stepgrandchild Avril. Karen is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Karen was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents, sister Lorraine, and brother Dale.

Visitation to be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 314 Barrie Street, Fort Atkinson, WI 53538, from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM. Funeral Service to begin at 11:00 AM with Pastor Peter Bredleau officiating. Interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson.
