Lester Vernon Baer

April 18, 1937 - July 30, 2026

Lester V. Baer, 89, formerly of Elkhart Indiana passed away on Thursday July 30, 2026, at Fort Memorial Hospital, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. He was born on April 18,1937 in Elkhart Indiana to the late Owen and Marie (Kauffman) Baer.

Lester graduated from Concord High School in 1955. He married Joan Lawson on December 6, 1957.

Lester served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1962. He was in the Demolition Engineering Corps and was a sergeant. Lester worked for Starcraft Corp. for 35 years. He also worked for Riblet Corp. and Glastec Corp. He retired in 2002.

Lester was a member at Lighthouse Baptist Church in South Bend. He enjoyed singing solos.

Lester enjoyed woodworking in his wood shop where he made many projects for friends and family. He leaves behind those he loved, his wife, Joan Baer, and his children Nathan and Angel Baer, and John and Nancy Moore. Lester had nine grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

There will be a private family service at Nitardy Funeral Home in Whitewater, Wisconsin, on August 10 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Joy, Whitewater, Wisconsin.
