Bernieta Louise Strohauer
Jan 31, 1938 — Jul 6, 2026
It is with great sadness that the family of Berneita "Bea" Louise Strohauer, of Evans, Colorado, announces her peaceful passing on July 6, 2026, at the age of 88, at Fairacres Manor in Greeley, Colorado.
Bea was born on January 31, 1938, in Holyoke, Colorado, to Harold and Bernice Miner. She was the oldest of three children. Growing up on the family farm in Lamar, Nebraska, Bea worked side by side with her father, milking cows. She also had a beloved mule that she rode to and from school each day.
After attending grade school in Lamar, Bea continued her education at Campion Academy in Loveland, Colorado. She later attended Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she completed her general education courses. While attending Union College, she met Robert Workman. They married in 1958 and soon after they welcomed their first son, Paul. A few years after their second son, Terry, was born the family moved to Greeley, Colorado, where they attended the Greeley Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Bea worked for many years as a doctor's assistant in internal medicine, serving alongside several physicians. Later Robert and Bea opened a board-and-care home, where she lovingly cared for elderly residents. Caring for others was simply part of who Bea was.
Robert and Bea divorced and she later married James Strohauer, and together they moved to Sebring, Florida, where they lived for many years before returning to Colorado and making their home in Evans.
Bea was a gifted seamstress who also enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She loved cooking for her family and treasured the time she spent with them. She also loved putting puzzles together and never met a puzzle she couldn't complete.
Bea is survived by her sister, Garneita (Denise) Goffar; her sons, Paul Workman and Terry Workman; her grandchildren, Tonia (Pat) McCann, Preston Workman, Alisha (Osvaldo) Acosta, and Tyler (Samantha) Workman; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Bernice Miner; her sister, Wauneita Ziegenhagel; her former husband, Robert Workman; and her former husband, James Strohauer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bristol Hospice in Bea's memory.
Memorial services will be held at the Greeley Seventh-Day Adventist Church on Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 11 am.
