Carla Marie Trujillo

Carla Marie Trujillo, born on July 26, 1991, left this world on November 10, 2025, but the joy, laughter, and unforgettable energy she carried with her will stay with us forever. Born the youngest of three to Cathleen Vigil and Manuel Trujillo, Carla lit up every room she walked into and loved her people fiercely.

Carla was the proud and devoted mother of her two beautiful children. Emilio Valdez, shared with Carlos Valdez, and Jordyn Trujillo, shared with Robert “Rocky” Lopez. Her kids were her entire world, her greatest accomplishments, and the source of her deepest pride.

She is survived by her mother Cathleen Vigil, stepfather Daniel Vigil, and Father Manuel Trujillo, her siblings Manuel Christopher and Moraima Trujillo, Mariana and Roberto Valdez, and by her “sister by choice,” Vanessa Quiroz and Sindy, whom Carla loved every bit as deeply as a sister. Step Siblings Shareen Vigil, Siara Vigil and Ej Vigil: Her Pampo Alfredo Canas & Grandma Lorraine Velasquez: Her nieces (Luna, Layla, Liliana) and nephews (Davion, Milo, EJ, Alfredo) will forever remember their Tia Carla as the fun one, the one who turned up the music, danced in the kitchen, and made even ordinary moments feel like memories.

Carla had a gift for cooking, and feeding people was one of her love languages. Her sister Mariana’s favorite memory will always be Carla’s famous egg-rolls. She made them with cucumber instead of zucchini because the recipe confused her the first time and she just stuck with it forever. It became her signature. She also baked the best Mexican chocolate cake, rich, warm, and completely unforgettable, just like her.

Carla loved music, dancing, and any reason to celebrate. She brought joy wherever she went and taught all of us to live in the moment, laugh often, and love with your whole heart.

Though her time here was far too short, Carla leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and countless vibrant memories. Her spirit will continue to shine through her children, her family, and everyone blessed enough to have known her.

She was proceeded in death by her Grandparents Marcella Canas and Johnnie Velasquez Abuelos Esther and Bacilio Trujillo Tio's Arnoldo and Servando Trujillo.

She is survived by many aunts', uncles' cousins and friends.

A celebration of Carla’s life will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Amanecer Cristiano Church, located at 3451 23rd Ave in Evans. In true Carla fashion, we will honor her with stories, love, and maybe a little dancing—just the way she would have wanted.
