Cynthia Sue Dalpra

Mar 8, 1948 — Dec 3, 2025

Cindy Sue Dalpra, 76, was born on March 8, 1948, at home in Newton, Iowa, during a blizzard, to Edward and Marilyn Staley.

She graduated from Longmont High School in 1966 and from Denver Women’s College in 1967. Cindy married the love of her life, Charlie Dalpra, on May 13, 1967, in Longmont, Colorado. They shared 58 wonderful years of marriage.

Cindy spent 43 years working in the Finance Department at State Farm Insurance, retiring in June 2010. Her colleagues became lifelong friends, many of whom she worked alongside for more than 30 years.

Dedicated to giving back, Cindy volunteered with Mothers Against Drunk Driving in Northern Colorado for 20 years. She also served on the board of the CPCU Colorado Chapter and contributed to numerous committees at State Farm. Volunteering was always important to her, and throughout her life she devoted time to Habitat for Humanity, the Habitat Store, United Way, and many other charitable organizations.

Cindy cherished time spent with her family and friends. She loved the years shared at her mountain home in Crystal Lakes, Colorado, and the many joyful visits with her parents and sister in Tucson, Arizona. At home, she found great happiness in tending to her yard and flowers, especially sunflowers, her favorite, because they radiated such a happy feeling.

Cindy lived by her motto: “To love what you do and feel that it matters—how could anything else be more fun?”

She is survived by her husband, Charlie; her son Cody, and his significant other Simone Hernandez of Santa Fe, NM; her son Cory and his wife Michelle; four grandchildren—Kaleb, Taylor, Malaki, and Alexandra Dalpra of Eaton, CO; and her sister Connie Casebolt of Tucson, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her father Edward L. Staley, mother Marilyn J. Staley, sister Carol McKinney, and brothers Edward L. Staley II and Christopher Staley
