David Alan Mashek
May 9, 1964 — Oct 4, 2026
David A. Mashek, 62, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2026, in Greeley, CO. He was born on May 9, 1964, in Chamberlain, South Dakota, to Norma Jean (Schmalz) and Charles Mashek Jr.
On May 8, 1982, he was united in marriage to Lori Smith. Though later divorced, they remained close, lifelong friends.
David dedicated himself to hard work, enjoying a successful career in the oilfield. He was a great man with a generous heart who would abundantly help anyone in need.
Strong-willed, stubborn, and feisty, he lived life entirely on his own terms, always balancing his tough exterior with an amazing sense of humor that could light up any room. Outside of work, he was an avid rockhound with a genuine passion for hunting rocks and treasures. He loved hitting the bowling lanes, never missed the excitement of watching UFC fights, and above all, cherished every moment spent surrounded by his family.
He is survived by Lori Mashek; his four children: Korin Mashek, Joshua (Miranda) Mashek, Jaerod Vaughn, and Kassidy Mashek; his grandchildren: Kiara Camacho, Janiah Camacho, and Aden Camacho; his two great-grandchildren: Giovanni Gomez and Nalani Mashek; his sister Terri (Scott) Mashek-Kortz; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norma Mashek and Charles Mashek Jr., and his brother, Dick Mashek.
