Janice Rea Heft

Janice Rea (Bartlett) Heft, age 90, of Loveland, CO, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2026.

Janice was born November 9, 1935, in Bethany, MO to Orville and Lucille (Clark) Bartlett. She spent her early years in Missouri alongside her eight siblings before her family relocated to Sterling, CO in 1953. It was in Sterling that Janice met the love of her life, John Heft, at a local skating rink – beginning a beautiful marriage that would span 62 years.

Together, Janice and John raised four children – three daughters and one son – in the Sterling area, creating a home filled with love, faith, and strong family values. Janice devoted many years to caring for others through her in home daycare where she lovingly nurtured countless children while raising her own. She worked as a bookkeeper, including a local gas station and Logan County Lumber, where she was known for her strong work ethic and attention to detail.

A woman of deep and abiding faith, Janice was a devoted member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church and was well known for her service and involvement within the church community in Sterling and the surrounding areas. Her kindness, generosity, and steadfast faith left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Janice is lovingly survived by her children, Jerri Greene of Sterling, CO; Jayleen Heft of Fort Collins, CO; Joel (Terri) of McGregor, TX; and Julie (Scott) Ammons of Huntsville, AL.

She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Jacqueline Greene of Greeley, CO; Derrick Greene of Greeley, CO; Jonathan Greene of Denver, CO; Chelsey Greene of Englewood, CO; Erin Heft of Sacramento, CA; Dillon Heft of McGregor, TX; Bailey (Jacob) Greer Florence, AL; Parker and Taylor Ammons of Huntsville, AL.

Janice also leaves behind 18 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, each of whom brought her tremendous joy.

She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband, John Ralph Heft; her son-in-law, Kenneth Greene; her grandson, Anson Devereaux; her parents; and seven siblings.

A celebration of Janice’s life will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 11 AM at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Sterling, CO.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made in Janice‘s name to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Sterling, CO.

Janice will be remembered for her loving heart, her nurturing spirit, and her unwavering faith. Her legacy lives on through the generations of family she cherished and the many lives she touched.
