Jimmie Lee Smith, 49, of Greeley, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026, in Fort Collins with his family by his side.

Jimmie was born on April 4, 1977, in Burley to Jimmie and Nancy (Vigil) Smith. He will be remembered for his love for family, his kind heart, and the many memories he shared with those who knew and loved him.

Jimmie Lee lived in Bellvue, CO during most of His childhood. He attended Cache La Poudre elementary and junior high school. He was very outgoing and had a lot of friends. There was no such thing as a stranger to him.

Jimmie & his wife Theresa shared 29 years of love, laughter & memories. They celebrated 25 years of marriage this past March. Jimmie was an amazing father to their two children Halie & Anthony. Teaching them the importance of standing up for themselves but also the grace of forgiveness & kindness.

He was a devoted, frustrated fan of the Denver Broncos & Oregon Ducks.. However, he truly loved all sports.. (not you Nascar or Raiders)

Jimmie had an infectious, sometimes inappropriate sense of humor that caused his wife and mother to constantly pray for him. He could find humor in anything & we will miss his laugh & smile.

Jimmie worked for Noble & Chevron for almost 15 years. He made many long-lasting friendships along the way. These hard-working men & women had his utmost respect & gratitude. You are truly an amazing community, and our family appreciates everything that you guys have done for us.

In his spare time, he enjoyed watching football & fishing with his dad. Antiquing with his wife for their business and making YouTube videos. Smoking meats on his Pitboss or Trager were also a favorite pastime.

We will miss him more than words can describe. 💙

(Vigil) Aylward, of Loveland Father, Jimmie D. Smith, of Fort Collins, CO Brother, Joe Aylward of Lexington KY, Aunt Dorothy Vigil, of Bellvue, Aunt Frances (Vigil) and Uncle Robert Cheatam, of Loveland, CO

He is preceded in death by:

His Grandparents Marcelina and Lee Vigil of Bellvue, CO, Uncles Mike Vigil of Bellvue, Joe Vigil of Schertz, TX, Baby Brother, Antonio DeHerrera of Bellvue and Sister, Lacey Aylward of Greeley, CO.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Generations Church, 3600 W 22nd St, Greeley, CO 80634.

Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Jimmie’s life.
