In Loving Memory of Sonja McNabb-May
July 16th, 1970 ~ October 14, 2026
Forever Loved, Never Forgotten
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of Sonja McNabb-May, 56, of Sauk Village, who left this world surrounded by love, leaving behind countless memories and a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to have known her.
Sonja was a woman with a beautiful heart and a personality that could light up any room. She was comforting, honest, caring, and thoughtful, always offering a listening ear, a kind word, or the truth when someone needed to hear it, She has a special way of making those around her feel loved, valued and understood.
Known for her fun-loving and outgoing spirit, Sonja took pride in being the life of the party, She loved making people laugh, bringing people together, and creating memories that would last a lifetime. Her vibrant personality, genuine nature, and unforgettable presence made her truly one of a kind.
Sonja also found happiness in life's simple pleasures, especially her love for flowers and gardening. She enjoyed the beauty of watching things grow and bloom, a reflection of the care and attention she gave so freely to the people in her life
Above all, Sonja's greatest legacy is the love she leaves behind in her family. She is survived by her husband, Brad; her beloved daughters, Rachel and Cerulean; and her cherished granddaughter, Serenity who will carry her grandmother's love and memory throughout her life.
She also leaves behind her loving sisters, Stephanie and Brenda; her father and bonus mother, Clyde and Dina; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends whose lives were touched by her love and laughter.
Though her time here was far too short, Sonja's life was filled with moments that will never be forgotten. Her laughter will echo in the memories of those who knew her, her honesty will continue to guide those she loved, and her caring heart will live on through the family she leaves behind.
While our hearts ache knowing we can no longer see her smile, hear her voice, or feel her embrace, we find comfort in knowing that the love she gave us is something even death can never take away.
Sonja was more than a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. She was a source of comfort, a reason to laugh, and a beautiful soul who made life brighter simply by being part of it
A Celebration of Life honoring Sonja will be held in early 2027, with additional details to be announced at a later date..
Until we meet again, may you rest peacefully among the flowers, Mom. Your love will bloom in our hearts forever
