Daniel Keith Sunnarborg

Jan 18, 1949 — Jul 16, 2026

Daniel Keith Sunnarborg was born on January

18, 1949, and passed away on July 16, 2026, at the

age of 77. May he rest in peace.

Dan was a man of intelligence, integrity, faith, and

kindness. He graduated from Pleasant Hill High

School in 1967 and earned a Bachelor of Science

in Physics from California Polytechnic State

University, He later became a Registered

Professional Engineer, applying his keen intellect

and professionalism throughout his career.

Dan was sharp of mind, possessed a wondrous dry wit, and had a most compassionate heart which never

wavered. He often engaged his inventive spirit to create new ideas through electronics. Despite his

dedication to his field, Dan always took the time for family, gardening, tending the hummingbirds, or simply

relaxing with a challenging puzzle. Dan was also a magnificent billiards player winning many championships

and once turned down a sponsorship offer to go professional. Also, exceptional in the noble game of chess,

he competed in many national chess competitions.

These traits created a truly amazing man. Yet it was his love of family and faith that was the guiding force in

his life. As a lifelong member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church, he was a steadfast servant of God. He will

always be remembered as a stalwart pillar to everyone lucky enough to call him family or friend.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Laura S. Sunnarborg and Henry J. Sunnarborg.

He is lovingly survived by his siblings, Gloria Bullock, Duane (Melinda) Sunnarborg, Elaine Sunnarborg,

and Marshall (Joanne) Sunnarborg; as well as three nieces and one nephew. His absence will leave a void

in our hearts, but we will forever embrace the joy, the wisdom and the light he brought to our lives.

The Kingdom of Heaven has brought home a treasured soul and will forever be enriched by his spirit. We

can all agree that Heaven Got a Little Smarter.
