Howard Keith Bowling
April 25, 1939 – October 7, 2026
Howard Keith Bowling, 87, of Davenport, Florida, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Howard was born on April 25, 1939, in Hellier, Kentucky. His family’s history and heritage are honored through Bowling Fork Road, a road named after the Bowling family.
Following high school, Howard proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1961 as a Military Policeman (MP). Howard had a deep love for his country and took great pride in being an American, a patriotism he carried with him throughout his life. While stationed in Frankfurt, Germany, he met the love of his life, Christa Friedrich. The two were married on September 12, 1959, at the Römer Town Hall in Germany. This began a beautiful love story they cherished for 67 years.
Howard dedicated 30 years of his career to Anheuser-Busch before retiring in 1999. Howard and Christa made their home in Marengo, Ohio, until 2004, when they moved to Davenport, Florida.
A true outdoorsman at heart, Howard loved fishing, hunting, and camping. He had a deep appreciation for history and especially enjoyed reading old Western books. One of his most cherished traditions was sharing his famous “Bear Tales” with his children and grandchildren. His gift for storytelling brought laughter, wonder, and unforgettable memories. Those special stories will forever hold a place in our hearts.
Howard was a dedicated leader in the Boy Scouts, helping guide and inspire young men along their journey toward becoming Eagle Scouts. He also had a passion for traveling and exploring the world.
Howard was preceded in death by his loving parents, Fon Vernon Bowling and Lois Hunt Bowling, his brother Doulas and Sister Burma Jo.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 67 years, Christa L. Bowling; his daughter, Christa Rana Morris(Marshall); his sons, Richard K. Bowling(Theresa), and Ronald D. Bowling,(Kathy); his grandchildren, Samantha(Hunter), Jeff(Jakala), Jessica(Jason), Jenna(Alex), and Julia; and his great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Jackson, and Noah.
Howard was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a man of strength, kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. To those who loved him most, he was their guiding light, their protector, and their hero. His love, the memories he created, and the lessons he shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. His legacy will live on through the family he loved so dearly.
