Jose Antonio "Tony" Vazquez

Dec 30, 1957 — Jun 17, 2026

Jose Antonio "Tony" Vazquez, 68, of Davenport, Florida, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 17, 2026. He was born on December 30, 1957, in Holguín, Cuba, to Jose Antonio Vazquez and Elvira Najera.

Tony proudly served his country in the United States Army for 11 years, attaining the rank of Sergeant before receiving an honorable discharge. He later dedicated 20 years of service to the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier, retiring in 2012. In 2019, he and his wife relocated from O'Fallon, Missouri, to Davenport, Florida, where he enjoyed spending his retirement years.

Tony had a passion for bringing people together. He loved playing board games, watching baseball and basketball, traveling, and creating lasting memories with family and friends. Nothing brought him greater joy than a home filled with loved ones, laughter, and good conversation. He was known for his warm heart, gentle spirit, and welcoming nature. Easy to love and a friend to many, Tony's calm demeanor, kindness, and genuine compassion left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

In the later years of his life, Tony dedicated himself to his Christian faith, finding comfort, strength, and purpose in his relationship with God. His faith became an important part of who he was and remained a source of peace until the end.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Antonio Vazquez.

Tony leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 13 years, Fanny Medina; his mother, Elvira Najera de Vazquez; his son, Jose Antonio Vazquez; his daughter, Danielle Vazquez; his stepdaughter, Erika Lopez; his sisters, Maria Teresa Vazquez and Rosa Elvira Vazquez; eight cherished grandchildren; and extended family members and dear friends who will forever remember his love, kindness, and generous spirit.
