Born on February 1, 1941, in Medina, New York, Lynda’s journey touched many, her legacy bathed in grace, kindness, and enduring love.

Lynda’s vibrant spirit first blossomed in the heart of Medina, NY. From her earliest years, she radiated warmth and gentle intelligence, traits that would define her every endeavor both great and small. The fabric of her life was woven with sincerity, resilience, and deep compassion for those around her—a testament to the values instilled by her family and community.

Throughout her years, Lynda became a steadfast companion and confidante, known for her generosity, brilliance, and unreserved devotion to her loved ones. Her marriage to Joseph “Buck” Travis was the solid cornerstone upon which she built a life of partnership, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they navigated the joys and challenges of life, their bond a shining example of mutual respect and friendship. Lynda’s memory will remain forever cherished by her beloved husband of 38 years, Joseph, who survives her with profound love and reverence. Lynda was also survived by 1 daughter and 2 sons as well as 1 brother and 5 grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents and her sister.

Lynda’s journey, from her roots in New York to her later years in the warmth of Florida, was marked not merely by the passage of time, but by innumerable quiet acts of kindness and an unwavering commitment to the people she treasured most. Though particulars of her achievements and associations may be lost to the demands of time, what endures unmistakably is the depth of her character and the legacy of love she bestowed to those who held her dear. She was employed at Dennison Middle School in the cafeteria for some 15 years and was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church., In her spare time she loved to crochet, it is said she could make anything out of yarn.

Family and friends are invited to honor Lynda’s life and to share in cherished remembrance during a visitation on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, located at 1001 E Grace Ave, Haines City, FL 33844. A funeral service will follow at the same location beginning at 12:00 p.m., where all who knew her are welcome to gather in tribute to a life beautifully and fully lived.
