Nevada (Tweed) Guinn, age 90, of Haines City, Florida, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 30, 2026.
Born on May 28, 1936, in Marshall, North Carolina, Nevada was the beloved daughter of Powell Tweed, Carrie Dickerson, and David Dickerson.
Nevada and Jack came to Haines City, Florida from Farmville, Virginia in March of 1958. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised their family while owning and operating Guinn Super "T" Truck Stop in Haines City.
Nevada had a gift for making everyone feel at home. She was an excellent cook who loved to prepare her famous biscuit gravy for family and friends. Her kitchen was always open, her table was always full, and her heart was even fuller. She cherished the time spent with her family and took great pride in every moment they shared. She was a devoted member of Stillwater Christian Life Center.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Jack Dennis "Papa Jack" Guinn Sr., her sons, Jack Guinn Jr; Johnny Wade Guinn, and Donald "Doc" Guinn; her parents, Powell Tweed, Carrie Dickerson, and David Dickerson; her brother, Edward Tweed; and her beloved sisters-in-law, Alice Spillman and Catherine Lochner. Nevada is survived by her children, Jimmy (Janet) Guinn, Ronnie Guinn, Dennis (Erica) Guinn, Mary Lou Adams, and Adele (Robert) Christian; along with 74 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, many cherished nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 7th, 2026 at 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 2:00 pm all at Stillwater Christian Life Center in Haines City. Her final resting place will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
