Robert Kelly Wallace

Robert Kelly Wallace, 65, departed this earth on July 24, 2026 in Haines City, Florida. He was born on July 6, 1961, in Jackson, Mississippi, to Robert and Janice Wallace.

Robert, or Kelly as he was known to most, graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and went on to work a 30+ year career with the NAVOCEANO command at Stennis Space Center as an oceanographer, supporting our country’s Navy. He lived and worked in Mississippi until 2017, where he retired and moved to Orlando, Florida, to take advantage of the more fun things in life. In his free time, Robert enjoyed many hobbies like tennis, watching movies, woodworking and crafting, visiting the theme parks (“our happy place”), and gardening. He also dabbled in aviation in his younger life.

Robert is preceded in death by his mother and father, and brother Tommy (Pat). Robert is survived by his siblings: Cherry, Janet (Bobby), Johnny (Emily), Jill (Bill) Lee Ann (Lamar); his daughter and greatest joy in life, Ashley (Juan); several nieces and nephews; and his faithful puppy, Coconut.

The family would like to extend sincere thanks to the staff that treated Robert with dignity and compassion prior to and after his passing. We are thankful for your selfless service to our loved ones.

Robert’s request for his remains was to be spread at sea, where he spent many years of his life. Details to come once planned; he’d want to wait for a perfect “blue sky day.” He is greatly missed.
