In loving memory of Sofia Sacco

Our beloved mother, Sofia (Sophie) Sacco, 84, of Davenport, Florida passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, a force of nature and the heart of our family. She was a devoted mother, a loyal friend, and a beacon of strength to all who knew her. A constant source of love, wisdom and encouragement. Whether she was sharing stories or offering advice, her vibrant personality lit up every room. She dedicated her life to raising her children. Her love and dedication for her family and cooking for special events was unmatched.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, she met and married her soulmate, Michael and started a family. She lived with a “never give up” attitude that inspired everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by her loving children, Valerie, John, Angela, and AnneMarie, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to a segregated fund within the Lundeberg Maryland Seamanship School, Inc. (LMSS). This fund will honor our Mother’s lifelong commitment and support for the opportunity and education by assisting underprivileged youth seeking to attend the Lundeberg School of Seamanship. Checks for these donations should be made payable to LMSS, Inc. and mailed to 5201 Capital Gateway Drive, Camp Springs, MD 20746. A note should be included on or with the check indicating that the donation is being made in Sophie Sacco's honor.
