Alan H. Adams
March 1, 1954 — May 1, 2026
Alan H. Adams, 72, of Winter Haven, Florida, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026.
Alan was born on March 1, 1954, in Winter Haven to Mr. and Mrs. William G. Adams. He dedicated over 25 years of his life to the citrus industry, working as a nurseryman. Through his hard work and dedication, he built not only a career but lasting relationships along the way.
An avid golfer, Alan loved spending time on the course as often as he could. His passion for the game led him to form many meaningful friendships that he cherished throughout his life. He also had a deep love for travel, enjoying opportunities to explore history, experience new cuisines, meet people from around the world, and take in the beauty of every place he visited.
Alan was known for his humor, quick wit, and generous heart. While he found joy in many things, nothing meant more to him than time spent with family and friends. Those closest to him will fondly remember his legendary story about working for NASA and his “very important job”—a tale that never failed to entertain. He was also proudly known as the “Howey in the Hills Hotdog Eating Champion” and for his days on the row team during his high school years.
Alan is survived by his son, Ben Adams (wife, Tiffany Adams); his beloved grandchildren, Bentlee, Landon, Gage, and McKenna; his brother, Steve Adams; his niece and nephew; and many cousins and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Oak Ridge Funeral Care (2425 Havendale Blvd. N.W., Winter Haven), with a gathering of friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park in Winter Haven. Family and friends are invited to gather afterward at Jessie’s Lounge to celebrate and remember Alan’s life. In honor of Alan’s personality and preferences, guests are encouraged to dress casually—slacks or jeans paired with a button-down or polo shirt—as that’s exactly how he felt most comfortable.
Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. Alan will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.
