Charlotte Janiece Teisinger
May 19, 1934 — Oct 6, 2026
Charlotte Janiece Frier Teisinger, 92, of Winter Haven, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Orlando Regional Medical Center.
Charlotte was born on May 19, 1934, on her family’s farm in Reinbeck, Iowa, to Carl and Ella Stricker Frier. She fondly remembered growing up on the farm, including getting electricity when she was 6 and indoor plumbing when she was 9. She helped with her mother’s egg business, enjoyed barn dances, and went roller-skating and ice-skating on a nearby creek. Charlotte had a beautiful voice, in high school, she sang at weddings and funerals.
After graduating from Reinbeck High School in 1952, Charlotte attended Iowa Teachers College in Cedar Falls, earning an associate degree in elementary education in 1954. She taught for 3 years, married Russell Eugene Teisinger, and welcomed her first child before moving to Frostproof, Florida, in 1958. There, she taught at a private kindergarten for 4 years.
Charlotte continued her education at Florida Atlantic University, Polk Junior College, and Rollins College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education in 1973. The family moved to Winter Haven in 1971, and Charlotte and Russell divorced in 1976.
Charlotte taught in Winter Haven for 30 years, including 24 years at Brigham Elementary, where she taught 3 different grade levels. After retiring, she substitute-taught at 11 schools for 17 years, continuing until she was 83. She enjoyed her students and treasured the friendships she made with fellow teachers.
Charlotte loved spending time at her beach house, “The Teisinger’s Beach House-The Tree House,” on Little Gasparilla Island, visiting friends and watching the sunsets. She also enjoyed her timeshare at Marine Terrace in Daytona Beach, which she had for 40 years. There, she spent time at the beach and pool, enjoyed meals out—especially coconut shrimp—and visited with friends she had made over the years.
A talented crafter, Charlotte displayed her work at Brigham Elementary and local craft shows. Her friends looked forward to the holiday T-shirts and sweatshirts she made each year. She also loved cooking for family and friends. For years, she prepared Sunday dinners of roast or baked chicken, and she continued cooking holiday meals until she was 90. Her specialties included cherry dump cake, and she often had a crockpot of chili waiting when her son Lance came home from Iowa. In recent years, she especially enjoyed birthday meals with family and friends at local restaurants.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Randy Teisinger; her grandchild, Carli Teisinger; and her brother-in-law, Myron Krotz.
She is survived by her sons, Chris Teisinger of Winter Haven, Florida; Lance Teisinger (Penny) of Dunkerton, Iowa; and Jason Teisinger (Lauren) of Gainesville, Florida; her siblings, Jim Frier (Priscilla) of Washington, Iowa; Joleen Frier Krotz of Kalona, Iowa; and Dick Frier (Yvonne) of Grayslake, Illinois; her grandchildren, Elli Teisinger and Molly Teisinger; her step-granddaughter, Niki Sadler (Danny); and her step-great-grandchildren, Drake, Lang, and Rhett Sadler.
A memorial service will be held at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, 2425 Helendale Boulevard, Winter Haven, Florida 33881, on Thursday, November 5th, 2026, at 10:00 A.M.
Charlotte’s burial will be at the Reinbeck IA cemetery at a later date to be announced.
