Melissa Milholin

Melissa Milholin, born on July 2, 1954, in Winter Haven, Florida, passed away peacefully in her hometown on August 3, 2026. Her journey began and ended in the same close-knit community that helped shape her into the cherished individual she became to those around her.

Melissa’s life was defined by her unwavering devotion to her family and her enduring kindness to all who knew her. She grew up in Winter Haven as the beloved daughter of Ewell and Mary Lou Hughes. She was an accomplished cook, making the best pot roast gravy you could ever imagine. Melissa loved her cats, Max and Gizmo. Melissa was a proud registered nurse and took great pride working with dialysis patients.

Throughout her life, Melissa built a tapestry of meaningful relationships, and her impact went far beyond her immediate family. Friends and loved ones will remember her compassionate spirit and the genuine care she extended to those around her. Even in moments of hardship, Melissa met life with grace and resilience, qualities that inspired all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Melissa is preceded in death by her parents, Ewell and Mary Lou; brother, Bill; sister, Teresa. She is survived by her daughters, Mary and Tara; granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth; brother, John.
