Wilma Beverly

Aug 21, 1946 — Oct 15, 2026

Kindness and caring. Wilma always showed everyone around her love and affection. She was a remarkable woman that will be missed by many. Wilma departed this earthly world at her home peacefully surrounded by family on Oct 15, 2026. Born and raised in Mason, Michigan, Wilma carried the values of her hometown with her throughout her life.

Wilma retired to Winter Haven, with the love of her life, Earl Beverly. She was a woman that uplifted those around her. If you ever provided any service for Wilma, she always made sure you left with a snack, a bottle of water or occasionally, even a sandwich. Her children always knew her love and adoration. She instilled confidence and strength in both of her children, raising them to be bold and successful as well as compassionate.

Wilma served Michiganders as a personnel director in the Department of Transportation for nearly 30 years. She led with a direct approach while always putting others first. Wilma was one of the first women to reach her level in MDOT. She was a dedicated problem solver unafraid to share her ideas in a male dominated workplace. A fearless pioneer with the character of helping others and sharing her support.

Wilma is survived by her son, Chad McCurdy, and his wife, Lisa; her daughter, Tisha McCurdy, her grandchildren, Savannah and Ella McCurdy; and her great-grandchildren, Clayton and Harper. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Beverly, in August of 2026. Wilma was one of 5 children born to William and Charlotte Carl and was blessed to have numerous extended family members she adored and loved.
