Kim Seely

Kim Seely, a devoted daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 17th, 2026, at the Tucson Veterans Hospital.

Born on November 23rd, 1961, in Gouverneur, NY, Kim was known for her unwavering dedication to her family and her passionate love for animals. The daughter of Giles and Janet Seely, Kim was predeceased by her father, Giles Seely, her Aunt Eleanor, Uncle Carl, and Uncle Claude. She is survived by her beloved mother, Janet Seely, her brother, Brent Seely, her nephew, Jeremiah Seely, her niece, Meghan Harrison, and her aunt, Nancy Seely.

Kim was a graduate of Montrose Pennsylvania High School, class of 1980. Immediately following high school, she joined the U.S. Air Force, serving her country as a Radio Technician. She later furthered her education by attending Vet Technician school. Professionally, Kim's had a varied career. She held positions as a maintenance technician at Proctor & Gamble in Pennsylvania and later repaired airport baggage systems at the Minneapolis - St. Paul Airport. However, it was her work with animals that truly brought her joy. Kim professionally trained hunting and show dogs and she also found satisfaction in her role as a Veterinary Assistant. A woman of extraordinary kindness, Kim exemplified compassion when she chose to become a home health care aide, moving in with her parents to care for her father during his two year battle with Alzheimer's. Family was central to Kim's life and her actions spoke volumes about the depth of her love and dedication.

Kim's hobbies and interests often revolved around her deep connection to animals. Growing up on a farm, she participated in 4H, raising and showing horses, sheep, goats, and pigs. As an adult, Kim continued to be a devoted pet lover, owning and training numerous pure-bred dogs and caring for a variety of pets, including exotic reptiles, birds, cats, and other small animals. She was a supporter of animal rights, dedicating her time to helping local animal shelters and humane societies.

The Seely family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Tucson Veterans Hospital and the Arizona State Veterans Home. The care and comfort provided by the staff at these facilities was a blessing during Kim's struggle with ALS, and their support will always be remembered with deep appreciation. The family kindly asks that no flowers, gifts, or cards be sent. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kim's memory may be made to foundations dedicated to finding a cure for Alzheimer's or ALS.

A private celebration of Kim's life will be held at a later date.
