Maggie Mae Reed-Thompson

Jun 13, 1938 — Mar 8, 2026

Maggie Mae Reed-Thompson, 87, passed away peacefully in the hospital in Tucson, AZ, on March 8th, 2026.

Maggie was born in Letart, West Virginia, on June 13th, 1938, to parents, James L. and Arietta (Smith) Pauley.

Raised in a large family, she was one of nine siblings, the mother of seven, grandmother of fifteen, and great grandmother of twenty nine - who called her "GG."

After raising her family, Maggie returned to school and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) for over 30 years, moving from Tucson, AZ, to Houston, TX. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling throughout the United States with family and friends and visiting many countries including: England, Ireland, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Thailand, and multiple cruises. With three of her sons completing careers in the U.S. Marine Corps, and one grandson completing a career in the U.S. Navy, which she constantly bragged about, she was able to visit some countries not normally on everyone's list to include: Okinawa, Japan, and Cuba.

Maggie loved quilting, crocheting, playing cards, refinishing furniture, square dancing, and visiting family and friends.

Maggie is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Siembieda and Patty Rook, her sons, Stanley, Mark, Richard, and Bryan Taylor, son, Tommy Kaminski, and daughter, Delores Elizabeth Hernandez.

She was preceded in death by her teenage daughter, Shirley Mae Taylor, her parents, her brothers, Ottie E. Pauley, Jimmie E. Pauley, Everette W. Pauley, Paul W. Pauley, and William M. Pauley, her sister, Janet Sue Reese, and infant sister, Betty Jo Pauley.

Per her wishes, cremation is being honored by her family. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.
