Robert (Bob) Travis Lindsey
November 11, 1953 — May 17, 2026
Robert (Bob) Travis Lindsey, 72, passed away peacefully on May 17th, 2026, at his home in Tucson, Arizona, with his wife, Cathleen (Cathy) by his side.
He was born in Lodi, Ohio, on November 11th, 1953, to Richard and Mary Lindsey. They moved to Tucson shortly after he was born and lived the remainder of his life in Arizona. He entered the United States Navy at the young age of 17 as a Machinist Mate 3 (MM3). He was stationed on the USS Mount Vernon from 1971 to 1976 in San Diego, California. He graduated from Rincon High School in 1972.
Bob was a "jack of all trades" and did many jobs upon his return from his military service but found his career working in mining at Duval Copper Mine in Green Valley, Arizona. After 30+ years in the industry, he retired to spend more time with his wife, kids, and grandkids in 2016.
In addition to his professional career, he enjoyed refurbishing homes, golfing, and taking his family boating on the lake.
Bob was a simple man - his mission in life was to support and love his family, for which he did an amazing job. If you needed him, he would be there. If you didn't know how to do something, you could call him and he seemed to know just what to do. While his family always had everything they ever needed, all he needed was his New Balance shoes - he had his dress up pair and his dress down pair!
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Cathy Lindsey; his son, Taylor Lindsey (Kim); his daughter, Renee Cox (Joey); his cherished four grandchildren, Sabrina Carrillo, Johanna, Jacey, and Ezekiel Cox, and one bonus granddaughter, Madison Black; and his great grandson, Finnegan Carrillo. He is also survived by his sisters, Terry Lisk and Dee Lindsey; his brothers, Craig (Diane) Lindsey, Steve (Rose) Lindsey, and David (Patti) Lindsey; brother-in-law, Gary (Jan) Roluffs; as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mary Lindsey, and his father and mother-in-law, Julius and Juanita Roluffs.
A memorial service will be held at Light the Way Lutheran Church, 8611 N. Silverbell Rd (Tucson, AZ 85743), on August 1st, 2026, at 10:00am.
The Lindsey and Cox families extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many friends and loved ones who have reached out to offer support and kindness during this difficult time.
