Shereen Faye (Pundy) O'Connor

Shereen Faye (Pundy) O'Connor went to be with the Lord on September 6th, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born on April 21st, 1939, on a farm near Baldwin, Wisconsin, to Arthur and Lucille Pundy.

Shereen graduated from Baldwin High School in 1957 and went on to attend the Fairview Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she became a Registered Nurse in 1960. It was during her time in Minneapolis that she met Ronald P. O'Connor of Sioux City, Iowa. The two were married on July 9th, 1960, beginning a loving marriage that would span 66 years.

Shereen and Ron were blessed with three children: Kim, Pat, and Mike. They made their home in Minneapolis until 1973, when the family moved to southwest Kansas. After two and a half years there, they moved to Tucson, Arizona, in 1976, where they would make their home for the next 50 years.

Shereen devoted much of her professional life to nursing, with a special focus on pediatrics. Of the many roles she held throughout her career, the one closest to her heart was working with children with special needs and their families at the Children's Clinic for Rehabilitative Services. Her compassion and dedication to caring for children and families reflected the kindness she carried throughout her life.

Following retirement, Shereen and Ron embraced the RV lifestyle, spending several wonderful years traveling together, making memories, and enjoying new adventures. But above all else, the greatest joy of Shereen's life was her family - especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Shereen is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Ron O'Connor; her children, Kim and Mike Campos, Mike and Jacque O'Connor, and Pat and Brenda O'Connor; her grandchildren, Kyle and Cassie Cady, and their children, Reckon and Rory; Kamree Cady and Stetson Milligan; Heather and Jared Yalung, and their daughter, Brady; Haley O'Connor and Taylor O'Connor; Kendra and Devin Harrison, and their children, Chase and Elliott; and Justin O'Connor.

She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Richard O'Connor of Tucson, Arizona; her sister-in-law, Susan (Rick) Turner of Orlando, Florida; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Shereen was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lucille Pundy; her brother, Allyn; and her sisters, Mavis (Henry) Clemons, Dorothy (Chuck) Hybarger, and Jo Ann (Rich) Luckwaldt.

Shereen will be remembered for her love of family, her caring heart, her years of service as a nurse, and the countless memories she created with those she loved. Her life touched generations, and the love she gave will continue to live on through her family.

As Shereen so often reminded those around her:

"This, too, shall pass."

And while saying goodbye is difficult, her family finds comfort knowing that she has gone to be with the Lord
