Joyce Long Smith

Joyce Long Smith, 63, of Reidsville passed away on June 26, 2026 under the care of Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro. Born in Greensboro, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Shelly and Edna(Oakes) Long.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Travis Smith (Dutchanne-spouse) and Allen-Michael Smith, and her brothers Michael Long and David Long (Terry-spouse). Along with numerous sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Paul Michael Long (son), Tommy Long (brother), Allen Long (brother), Elaine Long (sister), Eddie Long (brother), Charles Long (brother), Margaret Ritter (sister), and Jerry Long (brother)

She was an amazing mother and sister. She loved being the youngest of ten siblings. She grew up in a family that always looked out for each other and that trait stuck with her for life. Anyone who knew her knew that she was the most trustworthy and loyal person there was. If you needed someone to be there for you or just to talk to then she was always there. We all know that she is holding her son Paul Michael in her arms and rejoicing with her family in heaven. It is comforting to know that her beautiful soul will be the first to greet her family and friends when they join her in heaven.

The family will receive friends at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service - Lambeth Chapel, 300 W. Wendover Ave. Greensboro NC 27410 on Thursday, July 2,2026 from 1:30-2:30PM. A graveside funeral service will be held at Lakeview Memorial Park, 3600 N O.Henry Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27405 at 3:00PM with Preacher Paul Luttrell officiating.
