Robert Candido, 64, of Greensboro NC, passed away on Monday September 14, 2026, surrounded by family and loved ones. Robert was born on May 1, 1962, in Inglewood, CA, and was the son of Benjamin and Mary Jo Candido, one of 5 children, and also a twin.

Robert is survived by his mother, Mary Jo Candido, of Fayetteville NC; his twin sister Robin Candido and husband Gil; his brother Mitchell Candido and wife Patty; his sister Janice Turner and husband Robert; brother-in-law Jeffrey Rottier; and his partner Rick Cabaniss of Greensboro, NC.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin Candido; his sister Sheila Rottier, and many beloved friends and pets.

Robert was a successful jeweler for Saslows Corporation until his retirement. He was also known as a well-respected tailor and designer, known for his wedding gowns and skating outfits.

Robert was a national Gold medalist in Roller Figure Skating in 1995, and 2011. He was a very accomplished freestyle, dance, and figure skater for several decades, and was known and loved by the skating family across the United States.

Robert will be remembered for his fantastic smile, his warmth and love and appreciation for all others. He had a way of making everyone in the room feel special.

A Celebration of Robert's life will be held on Sunday September 27th, at Skateland USA, located at 200 Old Stagecoach Trail, Greensboro, from 12:30-1:30pm. The family will also hold a Celebration of Life in Fayetteville, NC, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Robert's name to either The SPCA of Greensboro, or Dachshund Rescue of Greensboro.
