Baby Declan Wesley Gillenwater was born and peacefully went to his heavenly home on November 26, 2025.

In his brief time on Earth, Declan experienced only the purest love from his family.

Declan was the deeply treasured and longed-for son of Wesley Brandon Gillenwater and Morgan Leigh Wilson Gillenwater. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his proud big sister, McKenna Delaney Gillenwater, of the home; his maternal grandparents, Dale and Ann Wilson of Mocksville; his paternal grandparents, Larry and Cathy Gillenwater of East Bend; aunts and uncles, Cody Wilson (Lauren) of Belews Creek, and Misti Dewitt (Johnathan) of Hamptonville; along with numerous cousins.

A memorial service to celebrate Declan’s short but precious life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Farmington Methodist Church, with Rev. Joey Yokeley officiating. The family invites friends to join them for a time of fellowship and remembrance at the church immediately following the service.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital Labor and Delivery, as well as to the Yadkin County EMS, for their compassionate care during this difficult time. We, the family, also deeply appreciate all the prayers, love, and support extended to us.
