Brenda Roddy

December 6, 1945 — July 26, 2026

Brenda Roddy, born December 6, 1945, went home to be with her family on July 26, 2026. Brenda was born in Richmond, Virginia, and moved to Kernersville as a young girl, where she met the love of her life, Vernon Roddy, whom she married and with whom she had two children: Mark Roddy, and his wife Brandi of Myrtle Beach, and Joshua Roddy. Brenda also had an older son, Bobby King, whom she loved dearly.

She was the sister of Linda Merritt, Wade King, and Ann Lawson, each of them special to her in their own unique way. She is also survived by three granddaughters and a grandson — Brianna Smith, Jason Smith, and Kylie and Kaylee Roddy.

Brenda had a “passion for fashion” and loved collecting flashy clothing, accessories, and jewelry of all colors and sizes — preferably the largest, most colorful, and boldest statements she could procure. She also had a deep passion for her cats, caring for many generations of them over the years. She was known for a feisty but loving personality, and she always had wisdom to share that was never sugar-coated. She was known throughout town and made many, many friends out and about shopping. She is an inspiration to her family and to all those who have been blessed to know her.

Brenda leaves behind her son Mark and daughter-in-law Brandi, along with their children Brianna, Jason, Kylie, and Kaylee; her son Joshua and his girlfriend, Kelsie Adams, whom she loved conversing with; and her sister, Ann.

While she rejoices in the peace and glory of our Heavenly Father and her family, her earthly family awaits the day to rejoin the circle, and will carry her memory with them throughout their lives.
