Brian Keith Lawson

Brian Keith Lawson, 44, of Kernersville, passed away unexpectedly on August 18, 2026. He was born October 17, 1981, to Edison “Gene” and Ann Lawson. He graduated from East Forsyth High School in the Class of 2000. During his Senior year, he traveled to Europe on his class trip where he discovered the love of Pigeons. Brian played baseball growing up, proudly serving as the “left” handed catcher. He was scouted by many schools but chose to attend Forsyth Tech Community College and Nascar Technical Institute.

Brian started working very young with his grandfather helping him in his plumbing business, Lawson Plumbing Company. His grandfather raised Pigeons where Brian learned the love of Show and Rehoming Pigeons. Brian worked for Verizon and UPS thru 9/11 era. Brian served in the Union Cross and Horney town Fire Dept in the early 2000’s. Brian grew up at the local racetracks with his dad racing, where he learned the love of racing and was always one of the first to watch the Fast and Furious movies.

Brian met his wife, Allison Hutchens, in August 2007, and they married on August 7, 2009. Together they lived in Kernersville for 10 years before moving to Walkertown, where they spent the next 8 years.

Brian and Allison shared a love of Wake Forest Sports where they spent many nights together attending basketball, football or baseball games. Brian especially loved being in the touch-down club area, so close to the football field. He also became close friends with a several of the Wake Basketball players where Team Patience was founded and Brian became known as the “Prez”.

Along with a few close friends Brian and Allison were part of Kernersville Jeep Nights that ran from 2021 until 2025, supporting many local families in need and Special foundations in the Triad.

Brian took over his grandfather’s business in 2009 and owned and operated Lawson Plumbing Company until 2021, when the business had been running for 50 years.

Brian’s love for cars began in the early 2000’s. There, he developed a passion of Loud Music, Loud Mufflers, and Mustangs. That passion eventually carried on to Jeep Community in 2016, where he and Allison would spend lots of weekends together preparing and showing their beloved Jeep, “Patience”.

Brian taught Allison how to pay attention to detail, how to judge car shows and how to enjoy experience. A few short months later they bought a 2-door Jeep Wrangler that became the Awareness jeep named “INDUETIME”. Brian nor Allison had much patience, so that Jeep really put it to the test. To this day, INDUETIME spends its weekends bringing awareness about numerous foundations in the community, up and down the East Coast.

In 2022, Brian decided to open ABC Offroad and Installation. With his wife and dad by his side, he built some of the baddest, loudest, brightest and wildest jeeps out there. Along the way, customers became friends, and those friends and eventually became family.

Brian will be remembered for his big personality, his love of cars and jeeps, racing, sports, his family, his friends and his willingness to support others and causes that were important to him. He volunteered during the Hurricane Relief Support in October 2024 at the VFW in Kernersville.

Brian is survived by his parents, a special niece and nephew, four beloved dog pups, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Brian was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Roy and Nellie Lawson, Rev. Gene and Betty Lawson, his son, Tyler Andew, 6 Angel babies and two beloved dog pups.

The family will receive friends from 9:00 am -10:45am on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service in Kernersville, NC. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am with services officiated by Bro. Darius C Collins. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes Charitable donation in Brian’s memory to: Great Dane Friends of Ruff Love, Sarges Animal Rescue or The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention-NC Chapter.
