Christina Michelle (Smith) Vertefeuille

Walkertown, NC – 52, Christina Michelle (Smith) Vertefeuille, passed peacefully and went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, May 22, 2026.

She was born in Forsyth County, NC on June 17, 1973, to David Smith, Jr. and the late Ann (Mecum) Smith.

In addition to her mother, Christina was preceded in passing by her grandmother, Madena Mecum, and her paternal grandparents, Henry Smith Sr. and Mary Smith.

Christina was an Elementary School Teacher for Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools and loved her children. She enjoyed arts and crafts.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 27 years, Scott Vertefeuille; son, Justin Vertefeuille; and her father, David Smith, Jr.

The family would like to say “Thank You” to the caregivers who helped Scott care for Christina, especially Wanda Tilley, Valerie Livengood, Laura Jackson and Sunni Duggins.

A Graveside Service will be held Friday, May 29th at 2:30PM in Walkertown Gardens of Memory Cemetery, 5676 Old Walkertown Road, Walkertown, NC 27051.
