Daniel "Ray" Pegg
May 28, 1936 — May 22, 2026
With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved Daniel Ray Pegg, who passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026, just days shy of his 90th birthday.
Daniel “Ray” Pegg was a kind, gentle man whose quiet strength, warmth, and loving spirit touched all who knew him. A devoted Christian, he lived a life marked by kindness, compassion, humility, and devotion to his family. He never needed to be the loudest person in the room to make an impact — his goodness spoke for itself.
Ray proudly served his country in the United States Navy and went on to dedicate 40 years of service to Cone Mills as an Information Technology Manager. He was respected not only for his professionalism and dedication, but also for the calm and steady way he treated others throughout his life and career.
He is survived by his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 69 years, Linda Lowrey Pegg; his son, Arlen Lowrey Pegg and wife, Deb Flemming; his daughter, Carolyn Pegg Dillon and husband, Marc; grandchildren Cameron Dillon and wife, Taylour, Caison Dillon and fiancée Maiya Davis, Jordan Pegg, Brandon Epps and wife Peyton, Callie Epps and fiancé Caelen Massey, and Alexandra Zinecker and husband Garrett; and his precious great-granddaughter, Mila Dillon and grandson, Winston Zinecker.
In addition to many cherished family members who passed before him, he was preceded in death by his beloved grandson, Connor Dillon.
He will be remembered for his gentle heart, quiet wisdom, unwavering love for his family, and the example he set through a life well lived. Though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the memories, love, and strength he leaves behind.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 28th at 6:00PM at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service, 213 West Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC with Pastor Ty Talton officiating.
