Edward Haynes

Feb 25, 1950 — Jul 17, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Edward Haynes, on July 17, 2026, after a courageous battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF).

Born in 1950, Ed graduated from Appalachian State University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. He began his career as a teacher at Madison-Mayodan High School before joining Miller Brewing Company, where he spent 37 years working as a Maintenance Supervisor and retired as an Asset Care Engineer.

Ed's passion was fine woodworking. He often built heirloom furniture for his home and created countless pieces for family and friends. In retirement, he became a Certified Professional Photographer, generously volunteering his talents at the Sedgefield Hunt Club and capturing the beauty of nature through his award-winning bluebird photography.

Ed is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Teresa Mignon Haynes, and their two daughters: Edie Haynes Cagle, her husband David, and their children, Hayden Elizabeth Cagle and Everett David Cagle of Holly Springs; and Amy Haynes Clark, her husband Jeremy, and their son Edison Reece Clark of Raleigh.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ed's honor, to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation are appreciated to support research and patient care: https://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org/ways-to-give/donate

In accordance with Ed’s wishes, his life will be celebrated in a private family gathering.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out with your love, prayers, and support. They have meant so much to our family.
