Leslie Michelle Spivey

May 3, 1967 — Aug 14, 2026

The family of Leslie Michelle Spivey is heartbroken to announce her unexpected passing on August 14, 2026, at her home in Colfax, North Carolina. Leslie was born on May 3, 1967, in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Leslie’s life was filled with both joys and struggles, but through it all, one thing remained deeply important to her: family. Having experienced a complicated family life of her own, Leslie wanted more than anything to keep the people she loved close. She wanted her family together to spend time together, laugh together, make memories, and build the kind of lasting relationships that meant so much to her.

Leslie was a hardworking and conscientious woman who took pride in whatever she did. She worked many different jobs throughout her life, and wherever she went, she had a way of becoming genuinely invested in the people around her. For many years, she owned and operated Up and Coming Cleaners. What began as a business became much more to Leslie. She cared about her clients, remembered the details of their lives, and built genuine relationships with many of them. Some who began as clients became friends and, eventually, felt like family.

Leslie was also a fighter. She bravely battled cancer and overcame it, showing tremendous strength, resilience, and determination throughout her journey. She had already faced one of life’s greatest battles and came through it with the perseverance that was such an important part of who she was.

Animals held a very special place in Leslie’s heart. Every animal she loved throughout her life became part of her family, and each left memories she carried with her. They were never simply pets to Leslie. Her current companion, Jasper, was especially dear to her and brought her tremendous happiness and companionship.

Leslie also loved camping and traveling with her husband, Keith Peeden. She enjoyed being outdoors, discovering new places, meeting people, and making memories along the way. Leslie had a natural ability to connect with others. People who began as strangers often became friends, and many eventually became an important part of her life.

Above all, Leslie wanted to enjoy life with the people she loved. She wanted her family together. She wanted everyone to spend time together, laugh together, and make memories while they had the chance. Her life was not without difficult moments, but it was also filled with love, hard work, laughter, friendships, animals, adventures, and countless memories that will remain with those who knew and loved her.

Leslie is survived by her husband, Keith Peeden; her daughter, Katlyn, and her partner, Chris; her only grandchild, Kit; her sisters, Lisa Petty and Tammie Odekirk, and Tammie’s husband, Spencer; Steve Gentry, who helped raise her and was an important father figure throughout her life; her sister-in-law, Theresa, wife of her late brother, Ben “Benny” Terrell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, close friends, former clients, and others who became like family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Rebecca Ann Gentry; her father, Ben Layton Terrell Sr.; her brother, Ben “Benny” Terrell; and her nephew, Thomas Bryant Terrell.

Leslie‘s passing has left us heartbroken and there are no words that can express how deeply she will be missed. Her memory will live on through the people she loved, the people she helped, the relationships she built, the animals she cared for, the places she traveled, the work she took pride in, and all the memories she leaves behind.

She was a mother, a proud grandmother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a friend, and so much more to so many people whose lives she touched. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed and will never be forgotten.

May Leslie finally rest peacefully, and may all who loved her find comfort in the memories they were fortunate enough to share with her.
