Nelda Shields Tawse

Nelda Shields Tawse, 83, of Colfax passed away on September 14, 2026 under the care of Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Born on January 12, 1943 in Henry County, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Basil and Beulah Thompson and wife to Rob Tawse.

Nelda is survived by her loving husband, Rob Tawse; and her siblings, Sharon of Eden, NC, Carol of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Jay Thompson of Collins, VA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sibling, Scottie Thompson.

A celebration of Nelda's life will be held at River Landing at a later date.
