Windy Salazar

Windy Salazar, 51, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and friends, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Windy was a selfless, kind soul, and a loving mother, daughter, and sister who always put others first. While inherently gentle, she was strong-willed and would fiercely defend her loved ones and beliefs. She truly enjoyed a simple life, whether raising chickens, writing thoughtful notes and letters, going to the zoo and aquariums, or just sharing a backyard BBQ with family and friends. She will be painfully missed by everyone who ever had the honor of meeting her.

She is preceded in death by her father, Bill, and her daughter, Kylee. She is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, John Salazar; her four beloved children, Angel Salazar, Cassandra Salazar, Johnathan Salazar, and Serenity Salazar; her mother, Marilyn Frederick; her siblings, Misty Cavazos, Crystal Wilson, BJ Frederick, Colleen Wilson and Wayne Wilson; and her two dogs, Luna and Lily, who loved to aggravate her relentlessly.

The family will receive friends at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service, 213 W. Mountain St. Kernersville NC 27284 on Friday, July 24, 2026 from 3:00PM-4:00PM. The memorial service to celebrate her life and her love will be held this Friday, July 24, 2026, at 4:00PM.
