A. Ruth Fennell

Ruth Bay Fennell passed away in Parker, CO on January 3, 2015 at age 103. She was born February 19, 1911 in Burnham, PA. She is survived by her daughter, Raven Fennell and her daughter-in-law, Star Fennell; six grandchildren: Kurt Fennell, Karl Fennell Kirsten Lear, Kyle Fennell, Arwen Fennell and Ashley Farrell; and five great-grandchildren, Emerson Fennell, Skyler Fennell, Landon Fennell, Olivia Lear and Veronica Lear. She was preceded in death by her son, Dr. Ralph G. Fennell in 2014 and her husband, Dr. Ralph E. Fennell in 1967. Ruth was a graduate of Jefferson Hospital of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA and was a practicing nurse for most of her life. She assisted her husband in their practice and later was employed by the Greenville, PA Hospital. She was also a very active member of the Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church, serving as organist for 40 years and as an elder. She was a member of the Lakeview Music Club, an active volunteer in the Sandy Lake Library, a volunteer in the Meals on Wheels program and an active participant in the McQuiston Senior Center. For all of her life she was a strong, talented, independent, caring member of her family and community, no matter where she lived. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Sandy Lake Presbyterian Church Music Fund in Sandy Lake, PA. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015, 10:00 a.m. at Ponderosa Valley Funeral Services. Service Information
