Donna Rae Zordel

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, family member, and friend, Donna Rae Zordel, who passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2026, at the age of 73 after a courageous 10-year battle with COPD.

Donna was born and raised in Denver, Colorado to Nellie and Vernon Schelhaas. She dedicated more than 30 years of her career as an office manager in a medical practice, where she was known for her reliability, organization, and caring nature. Outside of work, she enjoyed shopping, dining out with friends and family, singing along to her favorite songs, spending time surfing the internet, gardening, and soaking up the Colorado sunshine and attending her daughter’s and grandkids sporting events and activities whenever possible. Additionally, she served actively on the board of her homeowners association for over 20 years.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Jennie Zordel; grandson, Wyatt Yarmer; granddaughter, Jessie Yarmer; cousin, Karen Hamm; niece, Lori Wagner; nephews, Jason Schelhaas and Jayce Knight; and her dear friend, Toni Gibbons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her two siblings, and other loved ones who welcomed her home.

Donna’s life is one measured not by words, but by actions; not by what she said, but by how she loved and her legacy lives on in the family she loved so deeply and in the lessons she taught through a life of resilience, dedication, and quiet devotion.
