July 1, 1931 – March 16, 2020
A loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend
Harold “Bud” Elvey, 88, of Parker, Colorado, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2020, surrounded by his family. Bud’s life was full of love, support, kindness, generosity, and laughter. He was deeply devoted to his family and helped create memories that will be cherished forever.
He married Jean Kroyer on September 1st, 1957 and enjoyed a 58-year marriage. Together they raised two children in Milan, Michigan and moved to Parker, Colorado in 2002 to be close to their daughters and grandchildren.
Born July 1, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio, to Harold and Ella Venora (Shuler) Elvey. Bud was proud to have served in the United States Navy and had a 37-year career with Ford Motor Company, retiring at age 56. He built a 1956 MG and a 1957 T-Bird which he drove in numerous Milan parades. For decades, Bud and Jean spent their winters in Panama City Beach, Florida. He loved to fly radio-controlled airplanes and spent a lot of time at the Milan Flying Field before moving to Colorado.
He is survived by his children Lisa (Curtis) Kirk and Linda Elvey, four grandchildren (Darren, Lauren, Gordon, and Dana), sisters Bonnie (James) Murawski, Barbara Peters, and Betty (Gene) LaHote, and sister-in-law Patsy Elvey. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean (Kroyer) Elvey, and brothers Robert (Bob) Elvey and William (Bill) Elvey.
Bud was laid to rest with full military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Denver, Colorado
