Henry Lyle Mayhew

Henry “Lyle” Mayhew, age 82, passed away peacefully at home in Parker, Colorado on September 16, 2025.

He was born December 16, 1942, in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Henry Ambrose Mayhew and Verna Leona Mayhew. His fondest memories are of his experiences growing up on a farm in eastern Colorado. He liked to think of himself as a “High Plains Sodbuster”. He married Virginia Darlene March on July 2, 1965. Henry worked as an architect and land developer for most of his career. He designed and built three homes for his wife and four daughters in Littleton, Colorado Springs, and Morrison. He also designed hospitals, offices, athletic clubs, and many subdivisions. He was most proud of designing his mother’s church, Lighthouse Temple, in Colorado Springs. 

He is preceded in death by his wife Virginia Mayhew, parents Henry and Verna Mayhew and his brother Larry Mayhew. He is survived by two sisters, four daughters and their families. 

Henry’s funeral will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Ponderosa Valley Funeral Services, 10470 S. Progress Way, Suite 105, Parker, Colorado 80134. The burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, 26624 North Turkey Creek Road, Evergreen, Colorado 80439.
