James Mark Janson

James "Jim" Mark Janson, 66, of Littleton, Colorado, passed away, Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at his home. Jim was born June 10, 1952 in Fort Worth, Texas to Lt. Col. Alfred Peter and Rosemary (Thiewes) Janson. Being a military family, the Jansons moved to California then settled in Littleton, Colorado in 1961 where Jim graduated from Arapahoe High School with the Class of 1970. On November 27, 1971 he married the former Tamara Lynn Cowley. After nearly 50 years together, Jim was heartbroken to say goodbye to his wife, Tammy, who died on July 22, 2018, just a couple of weeks before his own passing. Jim was employed as a mechanic at Leprino Foods, Denver, Colorado for almost 20 years. He willingly shared his mechanical talent with anyone who could use a hand. Jim also enjoyed spending time on the golf course with family and friends. As a member of the Knights of Columbus, he dedicated time each week at St. Mary's Catholic Parish. Jim is survived by his two children, James Mark Janson, Jr., and his wife Bridget of University Place, WA, and Marie (Janson) Scott and her husband, Anthony, of Aurora, CO; three grandchildren, Ethan and Evan Janson, and Aubrey Scott; and several siblings, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy; his parents, Pete and Rosemary; and his sister, Suzanne Curtis. Rosary will begin at 10:00 AM and Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM on Friday, September 7, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Parish, 6853 S. Prince St., Littleton, CO 80120. Reception to follow.
