Lorraine Isabel (Johnson) Grabow, 91, of Castle Rock, Colorado, former resident of Ashville, North Carolina, died March 3, 2011.
Lorraine was born in Chicago, IL to Louis and Ethel Johnson. Lorraine attended Hyde Park High School and the Art Institute of Chicago. On June 23, 1943, Lorraine married Ralph Grabow of Forest Park, IL. She found great pleasure in art and music, her rose garden, bridge and volunteer work at Saint Mary's Church. Lorraine was known for her love of animals and strength of character. Her greatest joy was family, and greatest sorrow was the loss of her husband Ralph on October 27, 2003 and daughter Patricia on November 19, 2006.
During their 61 years of marriage, Ralph and Lorraine lived in Downers Grove, IL and Ashville, NC. Together they had three daughters, Paula Schoenbrod, Patricia Bates, and Sherry Hill. Lorraine is survived by daughters, Paula (Lee) Schoenbrod of Tucson, AZ, Sherry (Mark) Hill of Castle Rock, CO; sister-in-law, Bernice (Roland) Schawel of Forest Park, IL; grandchildren, Deborah Lee, Kelly Kuhen, Christie Hickman, Brenna Hill; great grandchildren, Dillon Lee, Madelaine and Hannah Kuhen, Margaux and Griffin Hickman.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Castle Rock, on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment at Fort Logan National Cemetery on Thursday, March 10, 2011, 2:15 p.m. at 0 Staging Area C.
Inurnment of Lorraine and her husband, Ralph, will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, CO.
